Meet the Founders
about ariel
“In 2016 I graduated from Northeastern with my doctorate in physical therapy, ready to take on the world and start my career. I began working in the outpatient setting and over the first few years built my manual skills. I was introduced to Dry Needling, Graston technique, and cupping, which made all the difference in how quickly my patients were able to move and feel better.
I enjoyed working one-on-one with patients, however due to the poor reimbursement allowed by insurance companies and extensive paperwork required for each new patient, my attention was constantly divided. All I wanted was to be able to put all of my attention on my patients and their health, but this was nearly impossible due to the nature of PT reimbursement.”

“As I continued on my own fitness journey and found a passion for weight lifting, I experienced a significant shoulder injury. With nerve pain traveling into my hand, I was forced to cut back on doing the things I loved most. In a panic, I asked my coworker to try dry needles on my shoulder. While I was unable to commit to full PT myself, dry needling once a month at work was my saving grace, and allowed me to return to doing the things I loved. I wondered, if only this resource was available to everyone.
In 2018 I started instructing group fitness classes at a local studio called Sweatfixx. When I met Elise for the first time and learned about her extensive injury history, I wanted so badly to share some of my manual skills. Since operating 5 studios left little time for her to attend physical therapy 2 times per week, I started offering dry needling at Sweatfixx as a way to provide a quick, 20 minute “tune up.” The response was incredible. The number of our athletes who needed regular maintenance work without being able to commit to full physical therapy was so significant, I knew we needed to take these services to the next level.”
about Elise
“I’ve been an athlete my whole life, from playing collegiate basketball and having 2 ACL reconstruction surgeries my body has been through a lot! Couple that with running your own fitness studios and doing 5-6 of my own workouts a week , my body was screaming for help. I had lower back pain that seemed to never go away. It got to the point where I was just got used to my body not feeling 100%, and that became my new normal.
I always felt “too busy” to set up time to go to a chiropractor or get a referral from my doctor , so I continued to push my self-care needs aside. That was until I met Ariel and was introduced to dry needling & mobility work … and that all changed.”

“My schedule is crazy currently running 5 fitness studios, so I need something that I can book THAT day and fit in for 20 minutes- this was it! After talking to Ariel and trying out her other services she was providing in her Physical Therapy clinic I was shocked no places in the area offered these in fast, no hassle way. I wanted to find a way to provide these to everyone. All my clients and friends needed to have access to these treatments!
Ariel and I believed these services should be accessible, affordable, and convenient for everyone without going through referrals or booking out weeks in advance. A recover studio that takes out the fear and hassle out of going to a clinic, but with that same 1 on 1 attention.. and that’s how FIXXED was born.”
