WHAT IS THE GRASTON TECHNIQUE?
What is the Graston Technique?
Dr. Ariel Edwards, PT, DPT, CSCS
Wondering why your PT or AT wants to use a crow bar to help FIXX your pain? Don’t worry, this is actually just one of our favorite instruments, Graston. And you aren’t the only one wondering what it is!
What is the Graston Technique and How Does It Work?
Graston is a specialized manual therapy technique that uses stainless steel instruments to break down scar tissue and fascial restrictions. By applying pressure to specific areas, it helps reduce pain, improve mobility, and accelerate the healing of soft tissue injuries. Graston also stimulates the body’s natural healing response by increasing blood flow and reducing inflammation.

What Does It Feel Like?
Graston is comparable to foam rolling, but just with a smaller surface area!
What Are The Benefits?
Graston has been seen to improve range of motion, facilitate the healing process, improve the ability to activate muscle fibers, and reduce overall pain!
